EchoWolf Productions is a California/New Mexico based production company, specializing in bringing high-end production value to art-house genre films. The experienced team has spent several years assembling a program that can be quickly adapted to maximize the dollars spent on low budget features.
Since 2009, we have produced several feature films for various organizations, providing everything from writing services to production schedules, budgets and breakdowns, to feature development and post-production services as well. Our unique team skill sets also include a current understanding and knowledge of the New Mexico Tax incentives available to filmmakers today.
CARL W. LUCAS
In 2002, Carl W. Lucas completed his first screenplay, The College Program, a comedy based on his experiences in the military. His second screenplay, Hollering Creek, The Legend of La Llorona, earned him a top 100 finalist nod in the HBO original series Project Greenlight. Since then, Carl has written 37 feature screenplays, won awards in several other filmmaking competitions, and garnered numerous writing assignments from multiple production companies.
In 2009, Carl's screenplay, Ilegales, was produced by Three Sigma Management. That same year, he created EchoWolf Productions and produced his first feature film, Don't Blink, starring Mena Suvari, Brian Austin Green and Joanne Kelly.
Since then, Carl has provided writing services for companies like Centropolis Entertainment and produced several features, including the feature The Rambler, which was accepted in the Midnight Section of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. He has also produced the independent horror films Fender Bender and The Field Guide to Evil, Slamdance award winner My Name Is Myeisha, and The Wave starring Justin Long, Donald Faison and Tommy Flanagan, which he also wrote. Most recently, Carl wrote and executive produced The Old Way, starring Nicolas Cage, which debuted January 6, 2023.
JOSHUA BUNTING
Joshua Bunting graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 2010 and is a member of the Florida Bar. He began his career practicing insurance law in Florida, but interrupted his practice after a year to pursue his lifetime goal of a career in film.
Joshua first worked as an associate producer on the feature film Roswell FM, where he met Carl who brought him on Calvin Lee Reeder’s The Rambler the following year. After the success of The Rambler, Carl and Joshua formed EchoWolf Productions and began working on a slate of original properties for the company.
Joshua has producing credits on Louis Mandylor’s The Blackout, the indie drama Cortez, directed by Cheryl Nichols, and the independent horror film Fender Bender, directed by Mark Pavia, festival darling My Name is Myeisha and the Justin Long, Donald Faison starrer The Wave.

Maggie Ronan began her career as a visual effects coordinator, garnering a reputation for her expertise in seamlessly integrating visual effects into cinematic storytelling on films such as Neon’s Ferrari and The Fate of the Furious. With a keen eye for detail and extensive knowledge of the VFX pipeline, Maggie has played a pivotal role in bringing awe-inspiring visuals to the silver screen. Additional credits include The Batman, The Tomorrow War, Dolittle and Pacific Rim: Uprising.
From there, her exceptional organizational skills and a knack for managing complex projects led her to a transition into producing, starting with The Field Guide to Evil. Maggie’s meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, and passion for storytelling continue to elevate the filmmaking landscape.
Maggie’s dedication to her craft extends beyond individual projects. She actively participates in industry events and festivals, sharing her knowledge and insights with fellow professionals. Her commitment to fostering a collaborative environment has made her a respected figure in the film community.
